SD 54 Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

TelusHealth/Lifeworks delivers SD54s free, accessible, confidential EFAP program.

An experienced, Masters-accredited counsellor will work with you to provide support that best suits your needs.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1 844 671 3327.

Basic intake questions are asked and the service is entirely confidential and anonymous.

The online TelusHealth/Lifeworks resource platform is another option for teachers to explore.

The CareNow Self-Directed is a parking lot for topical health content that is foundational and basic. One can move through some health modules and even receive asynchronous support via chat from a certified counsellor.

I tried it previously and it isn't specifically geared towards teachers so I found it frustrating. It was more geared towards office workers. I personally want advice that is specific to my situation, so it didn't work for me. Perhaps you are different. It is free, and there is a lot of quality foundaitonal health information there.

The CareNow Counsellor-Assisted is a bit different: one would move through health modules based on cognitive-behavioural therapy principles, whilst receiving asynchronous support from a certified counsellor.

This is all also accessible via an app.
