BCTF Business is used when:

You are attending a BCTF event such as...

 

  • Zone meetings (held two times a year, in fall and spring) in our Northcoast Zone 
  • Representative Assemblies, called RAs (held three times a year - around October, January, and May) in the Lower Mainland
  • the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the BCTF (held once a year, usually close to Spring Break) in the Lower Mainland
  • Bargaining Training (held twice a year in the lead up to rounds of provincial and local bargaining) in the Lower Mainland
  • Summer Conference (held once a year, in August, usually in the Lower Mainland or the Okanagan)
  • Federation Leadership Institute, called FLI (held once a year, usually around Winter Break), in the Lower Mainland
  • Women's Institute (held once a year, usually in February) in the Lower Mainland
  • the Public Education Conference (held once a year, around May) in the Lower Mainland
  • the Social Justice Conference (held once a year, around May) in the Lower Mainland
  • the New Teachers' Conference (held twice a year, one in the winter and one in the spring) in either Prince George or the Lower Mainland
  • other union governance or training where the member registers directly via the BCTF member portal.

 

 

BVTU business is used when:

You are attending a BVTU organized event such as...

 

  • Staff union rep training (SURT) event in your local, such as a "Role of the Staff Rep" SURT / "Staff Committees" SURT / "Role of the Professional Development Rep" SURT / "Health and Safety Rep" SURT
  • Local visits as a member of the BVTU Executive Committee (bargaining visits, social justice visits, health and safety visits, professional development visits, aboriginal education visits, etc.)
  • A local release day to work in the local union office
